How to Play Double Double Bonus Power Poker

Double Double Bonus Power Poker is a common multi-hand video poker game at online casinos that employ Microgaming software. The payouts for typical hands aren’t as appealing as traditional video poker games, but for bigger hands like 4 of a Kind, the payoff can be extraordinary.

Because it is a ‘Power Poker’ game, players are participating in anywhere from 4 to 100 hands in a single play. Of course, this means you are paying for each hand as well. Even at $0.25 per hand, it can get fairly expensive, costing up to $25 a play in 100-hand power poker games. Then again, the payouts can be astronomical when the cards fall in your favor.

The following gameplay rules and payouts apply to Microgaming’s version of Double Double Bonus Power Poker. Other online casino variations, as well as land-based casinos, may present a different pay table.

Let’s start by observing the basic screen options of 4-Handed Double Double Bonus Power Poker. To play this game with more than 4 (up to 100) hands, simply multiply the digits below accordingly.

Optional Coin Sizes: $0.25, $0.50, $1, $2, $5
Coins per Play: 4 to 20
Min / Max Bet: $1 / $100
Max Payout: 4000 Coins
Lowest Winning Hand: Pair of Jacks or Better

How to Play Double Double Bonus Power Poker
Your first action will be to set a coin size by clicking on the plus (+) and minus (-) buttons. Next you will need to choose how many coins to wager per hand, anywhere from 1 to 5. Each time you click the Bet One button, another coin is inserted (per hand). Once the desired bet is placed, click Deal to begin. Note that clicking the Bet Max button will instantly bet 5 coins (per hand) and deal the cards automatically.

You are dealt five cards. There will be more rows for cards to appear, but to start only the bottom row of cards matter. Clicking on any card will change its status from HELD to un-held. Any card you wish to keep should be marked HELD. Cards you wish to discard should be left blank. If you accidentally click on a card, just click it again to change its status.

When ready, click the Deal button and you will be dealt a new hand. All HELD cards will remain while all others are replaced with new cards. Because this is a Power Poker game, things get very interesting now. All played hands will appear, all containing the cards you chose to keep, but with new cards making up the remainder of each hand. Any hand that ranks Pair of Jacks or better will win an amount analogous to its rank on the pay table. Any hand that does not win will lose its bet.

All Microgaming video poker games come with a special Double feature. If a single hand wins any amount, the player is given the choice to play a quick double-or-nothing game of Hi-Lo. To play the game and risk the winnings, click Double. To skip this feature and keep the winnings, press Collect.

Double Double Bonus Power Poker Double Feature
When a player chooses to play the Double feature, a new set of 5 cards are dealt. The first card is revealed while all others remain hidden. The player must click any one of the four hidden cards. If the chosen card ranks higher than the first card, the player successfully doubles their winnings. If not, the winnings are lost and the screen reverts to the standard video poker game.

If the Double feature is won, the player can choose once more whether to play another Double round, or keep the winnings and return to the video poker screen.
